What it does

Insta-Stop fires a stop input right before you shoot off the dribble, so the shot comes out of a clean stop instead of a moving gather. It has three modes: Off, Auto (fires on every off-the-dribble shot), and Left-Trigger (fires only while you are holding L2 / LT).

It can cancel fades. The stop input interrupts the fade motion. If your fades keep turning into standstill jumpers, check this page first.

How to turn it on

Hold L2 (LT on Xbox) and press Options (Menu on Xbox). The menu draws on the Zen's OLED, not on the TV. Keep L2 held the whole time you are in it.

  1. Tap D-pad Right to Insta-Stop (page 8 / 25).
  2. Tap Up or Down to cycle Off → Auto → Left-Trigger.
  3. Release L2.

Tuning

There is no ms value. It ships Off and yew runs it Off. Pick the mode by how you shoot:

ModeWhen it fits
OffYou run fades (Left Fade, Right Fade, Turbo Fades). Nothing interferes.
Left-TriggerYou want the stop sometimes. It only fires while L2 / LT is held, so a fade without L2 is safe.
AutoYou shoot pull-ups off the dribble and rarely fade.

Button Rhythm sweeps about 10% faster on insta-stop shots — automatic, no setting.

Conflicts & gotchas

  • Three fixes for cancelled fades: turn it Off, use Left-Trigger mode, or hold the stick in the fade direction through the animation.
  • Not the same as Quick Stop, which is a full stop-and-shoot combo on the touchpad.

This page documents the yew2K mod set. Values and page numbers come from the shipping build; your Generator build on yew.gg/2k may show different defaults, and the OLED is always right. Support for the yew2K NBA 2K27 Cronus Zen script is on yew.gg/discord.

Questions

My fades turn into normal jumpers. Is Insta-Stop the cause?
Very likely. Insta-Stop's stop input can cancel a fade. Turn it Off, switch to Left-Trigger mode so it only fires while L2/LT is held, or hold the stick in the fade direction through the animation.
