What it does

Automatically activates after clicking down on the d-pad, performs a step back and times the shot for you.
— yew

Two pages control it. Step Back (page 21) holds the shot value. Step Delay (page 22) is the wait between the step-back animation starting and the shot starting.

Delay before it starts shooting after activating the step-back auto-green; faster step backs use a lower value, slower step backs a higher value.

How to turn it on

Hold L2 (LT on Xbox) and press Options (Menu on Xbox). The menu draws on the Zen's OLED, not on the TV. Keep L2 held the whole time you are in it.

  1. Tap D-pad Right to Step Back (page 21 / 25). Tap Up/Down to switch it On.
  2. Hold Cross (A) and tap Up/Down to set the shot value.
  3. Tap Right once more to Step Delay (page 22 / 25). Hold Cross and tap Up/Down to set the delay.
  4. Release L2. In game, tap D-pad Down to step back and shoot.

Tuning

Step Back (shot)660 ms710 msFeedback says early → raise; late → lower.
Step Delay150 ms125 msYour step-back animation is fast → lower; slow → raise.

Set Step Delay first so the shot starts when the step-back actually finishes, then tune the shot value. If you change your build's step-back animation, re-check the delay before the shot value.

If you also run Button Rhythm, shots within 400 ms of leaving the move stick sweep slightly faster. That is automatic.

Conflicts & gotchas

  • D-pad Down is shared. Dribble Down also assigns a combo to D-pad Down — one of the seven options there is literally Stepback. Do not run both on Down; test in MyCourt.
  • The Dribble Moves Stepback combo is a dribble move. This page is an auto-green that includes a step back. Different pages, different jobs.
  • Pressing X (A on Xbox) bails any running shot combo. The script never drives the left stick — you keep control of movement.

This page documents the yew2K mod set. Values and page numbers come from the shipping build; your Generator build on yew.gg/2k may show different defaults, and the OLED is always right. Support for the yew2K NBA 2K27 Cronus Zen script is on yew.gg/discord.

Questions

What is the difference between Step Back and Step Delay?
Step Back is the shot hold value (how long Square is held). Step Delay is how long the script waits after the step-back starts before it begins the shot. Tune the delay to your animation first, then the shot.
